The Witches of Worm (Newbery Honor Book Award)

If you like mystery and crime, you will like this book. My book review is about a book called "The Witches of Worm".

The main characters in this story are Jessie, who is thirteen, and her ugly cat, Worm, who Jessie found in her secret cave. One thing that is unique is that the cat can talk to her in her mind. "You're evil", she said, "You are-a witches cat!".

Jessie goes into this cave when she gets mad or just wants to be alone. Most of the story takes place in New York City in an apartment. Jessie finds a bright red dress in her step-mom's dresser, and by the dress is a note from her Mom's boyfriend. Then the note says something about her mom going to her mom's boyfriends house for a week to get to meet his parents….the day that her step-mom and she are going to do something.

I like this book because it has a lot of feeling in it, and it has really good description in the story. This is a good book for a fluent reader.
