I'd like to answer some questions about my family's immigration from Russia.

1. What town in Russia are you from?

My mother is from the Ukraine and my father is from Moscow.

2. How is life different in the United States than in Russia?

In Russia you have to work harder in order to eat than in the United States.

3. How many members of your family came to the United States?

Eleven of us came: Mom, Dad, Sasha (ME), Dina, Vladimer, Anna, Alex, Yana, Victor, David, and Rosa.

4. Why did you come to the United States?

Because our friends in Minnesota invited us to come and it is better here than in Russia.

5. What kinds of jobs did your parents have in Russia?

My dad built houses and my mom also worked.

6. How much did your parents go to school?

My father went through the eighth grade and my mom went up to the seventh grade.

7. How is school different here than in Russia?

School is harder in Russia.

8. How many years have you lived in the United States?

Six years.

9. What kind of houses are there in Russia?

There were big buildings with up to 100 floors. People still live in them but we lived in a house.
