Diversity is a necessity of life and is all around us. Below are some Internet Sites which contain good resources. By its nature, it is a work in progress. More sites will be added when they are identified.
WHAT IS BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY?
This site explains the meaning of the words biological diversity and splits the concept into three components: Species Diversity, Genetic Diversity, and Ecosystem Diversity.

OCEAN PLANET

The Smithsonian Institute has an online exhibit which runs through January of 1996 entitled Ocean Planet. The next two links open up a great set of resources.

OCEAN SCIENCE
This link takes you to the heart of the OCEAN PLANET Museum. Here you will find incredible information about recent discoveries, explorations, you'll find out what lives in the ocean and where. This is a good site to learn about the geography of the world's oceans and includes some stunning satelite photographs. You will also be able to learn about Ocean Currents, including El Nino.

Oceans in Peril

This link deals with some of the threats to the Earth's environment, including the oceans of the world. You will also be able to find links to sources dealing with climate change, ozone depletion, coastal development, habitat destruction, fishing issues, and maritime pollution.

BODY SYSTEMS

There's a lot of diversity in BODY SYSTEMS.
. This link will take you to an exhibit from the Franklin Science Museum in Philadelphia. Here you will learn more about the circulatory system, the respiratory system, and the excretory system. There is also a good section dealing with the HEART
