IMPROVING INSTRUCTION AND INCREASING LEARNING

 

At Alderwood decisions and plans for improvement are developed and driven by our vision, mission, and research about good instructional practices. Our goals for improvement reflect ongoing input from our parents, students needs and assessment tools.

 

Each year the staff and parents review our school’s strategic plan, Teams are established to guide the work outlined in the strategic plan. Parents and staff representation to the Alderwood Site Council serves to coordinate the activities and to evaluate progress toward the goals. The Strategic Plan is available in the office and library/media center.

 

Central to our strategic plan is the emphasis on instruction of skills through an integrated and relevant curriculum. Also, Alderwood School recognizes the value of working collaboratively both among staff and with the parent community at large.
